Hajab Zainab is a contemporary visual artist based in West Yorkshire, UK. Her multifaceted practice explores the intersections of tradition and innovation through painting, with a particular focus on murals, gouache, miniature, conceptual, and oil painting. Her work delicately navigates between classical aesthetics and modern technology, often incorporating themes of identity, heritage, and transformation.

Zainab's growing recognition includes selection for prestigious exhibitions such as the London Art Biennale (2023), Graduate Art Show (London, 2023), Sunny Bank Mills Art Gallery (2024), and the Chelsea Art Society’s Annual Summer Exhibition (2024). She has also led commissioned workshops with Yorkshire Contemporary, underlining her commitment to art education and community engagement.

Her works have appeared in both national and international art festivals and auctions, including the Islamabad Art Festival, Nomad Art Gallery (Pakistan), and Living Artists Contemporary Auction (USA)

Her practice dissolves the boundaries between artistic disciplines and invites viewers into conversations about the evolving nature of art in the digital age. Through the integration of pixelation, cultural motifs, and AI-informed concepts, Zainab’s work challenges conventional perceptions of art, encouraging cross-cultural dialogue and reflection on global interconnectedness.

Current Focus?

I am currently focusing on expanding my دگرگونی (Degargooni) series, experimenting with scale and material to further explore the relationship between the body, digital textures, and layered identity. My upcoming work also delves into how modernism can influence and reshape traditional visual languages.
